JAMMU: Jammu Kashmir Social Peace Forum (JKSPF) Chairman Advocate Devinder Singh has urged the international community to come forward and facilitate peace talks between Pakistan and India.
In a statement issued in Jammu, he said that for the last three and half months over 100 innocent people had been killed, more than 15,000 injured and thousands were arrested by Indian forces in Kashmir. He also deplored that the jail authorities were treating political prisoners as criminals and were not providing them proper food and medical care.
He appealed to the world community and international human rights organisations including Amnesty International and Asia Watch to come forward and save the lives of innocent Kashmiris. He also demanded release of all illegally detained Hurriyet leaders and activists including Syed Ali Gilani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, Mohammad Yasin Malik, Shabbir Ahmad Shah and Zafar Akbar Butt without any further delay.
