KARACHI: President Mamnoon Hussain on Saturday said that the education curriculum would soon be reformed to cope with modern day needs and bring it in accordance with the spirit of the Pakistan’s ideology.
In a meeting with the writers, intellectuals, poets and educationists at State Guest House here, the president said that the government was making all out efforts to bring reforms to the curriculum. He said that it was responsibility of the intellectuals to put forward their proposals to the government to make country’s education system more beneficial and meaningful so that the youth could serve their country by getting purposeful education.
He said keeping in view this strategy, the government was taking all out steps for promotion of education so that the new generation could get expertise in modern sciences and serve the nation besides achieving the objective of self-sufficiency.
President Mamnoon stressed the need to make literary and cultural activities more meaningful to acquaint the new generation with local cultural values besides containing the onslaught of the alien culture.
The delegation which met the president comprised Dr Pirzada Qasim Raza, Dr Nomanul Haq, Sehar Ansari, Dr Rauf Parekh, Dr Moeenud Din Aqeel, Dr Fatima Hassan, Shahida Hassan, Hasina Moeen, Ghazi Salahuddin, Imdad Hussaini, Yousuf Khushak, Sofia Khushak, Sehar Imdad, Khawaja Riaz Haider, Khawaja Tariq and Nasiruddin.
